Physical Simulation in Graphics Scene
Javorka, Marián ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with physical simulation of cars. Program is implemented in C++ using OpenSceneGraph and Bullet libraries, which are shortly introduced. The application is implemented as simple racing game for one or two players. Using a simple menu, the user can select a car and the weather, which dramatically affects the handling characteristics of vehicles. Setting weather to random is one of the options leading to a dynamic weather changes during the game. The application takes into account collisions among cars and collisions with the terrain and bars on a racing circuit.

Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Maršálek, Filip ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The diploma thesis extends the architectural study of the undergraduate project, which was focus on the topic of buildings with a sports content. The aim of this diploma thesis is design of specific stadium for track cycling competitions at the level of Olympic buildings. Design of building also contains the necessary operational and technical background of the construction. The main idea of the project was to create a building providing dignified areas for sports, spectators, multifunctional and, last but not least, a quality and functional architecture. It is also necessary to create club spaces for members of the Favorit Brno cycling club and also for visitors to sport events. The building consists of one main mass of the building, which is divided both, operationally and dispositionally into several units and floors. The main goal of the project was to create a simple velodrome mass that will be able to respond to the fragmented surrounding buildings and also create a comprehensive public space. Interior of the round stadium with a radial floor plan is sophisticatedly divided into tracts, which are served by a system of corridors. The race track itself is then located on the 2nd floor. An important factor of the design was also enough light, which is necessary to get into a large part of the massive building. The rough dimensions of the building are about 120 m in diameter and 21 m in height. The underground floor, which is used primarily for parking, reaches a depth of 3.8 m. The architectural study also includes the use for selected existing buildings, such as the building of the Favorit sports club, that will contains catering operation, important areas with energy of the building, as well as administrative and club premises. It also concentrates bar and VIP areas on the upper floors. The mass of the existing remaining building is incorporated into the proposed mass of the stadium near the main entrance to the building. The last large building materia
Description of physical characteristics of the C1 forward stroke in selected elite canoe slalom athletes
Foukal, Pavel ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Busta, Jan (referee)
Title: Description of physical characteristics of the C1 forward stroke in selected elite canoe slalom athletes Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the physical characteristics of a forward stroke in C1 using strain gauge measurement among selected elite canoe slalom athletes during flatwater paddling, and to organize the obtained results into a clear format. Methods: We used a single-axis foil strain gauge attached to each tested person's paddle and an accelerometer (G-link 200) positioned at the front of the boat to obtain the data. Everything was connected to a data acquisition unit (V-link 200). We processed the data using the Sensor Connect software developed by Lord Microstrain. Results: We have been able to describe the basic physical characteristics of the forward stroke on the dominant and non-dominant side as well as the cross stroke. It turns out that a greater force applied in the stroke does not necessarily lead to a faster resultant time for a given segment. Similarly, a higher frequency of strokes does not automatically lead to faster and better times. Boat speed is not dominantly determined by any of the physical indicators of the stroke cycle studied, but is probably determined by a combination of them, related to other factors such as the shape of the boat, the...

Media Connected with Famous Cycling Races
Jirků, Jakub ; Lukšů, David (advisor) ; Trunečka, Ondřej (referee)
ENG The bachelor's thesis "Media Connected with Famous Cycling Races" explores the importance of media in staging the world's oldest and most significant cycling races. All the races introduced were first opened before World War I. as it was the main criteria when choosing which races to include. The thesis covers races that took place in France and Italy. The thesis focuses on races that are continuing to exist to this day and it maps how the role of specific media changed in the organizational process of these races. Important is the description of the media that took part in organizing these races. Crucial are data such as the year when the newspaper was founded, which races it opened specifically and whether the number of copies produced grew following the cycling boom at the beginning of the 20th century. We attached translations of original reports which documented the very first stages and were published in newspapers which have maintained their influence to this day. The part of thesis is also focused on Bohemia where the spectators could read about worldclass races in Sport and hry magazine for example. The thesis includes also other subjects whose role was far-reaching in the organizational process of these races. Critical role played sponsors from the cycling field which have been...
